CANTON -- Nominations for St. Lawrence University’s 2014 North Country Citation award are due Jan. 15.
North Country Citations are presented to individuals in six counties of northern New York (St. Lawrence, Lewis, Jefferson, Essex, Warren, and Franklin) who, through professional endeavor or personal example, contribute in special ways to improving the quality of life or fostering a sense of community in the region.
Any citizen of the North Country is eligible except people who worked in the area and have left, people whose professional accomplishments might have benefitted the North Country but who do not or have not lived in the North Country, and SLU alumni and employees.
The citation will be awarded at the university's spring commencement on May 18.
Nominations are confidential. They should include the name, address, telephone number and brief profile of the nominee, as well as contact information for the nominator. They can be sent to Lisa Cania, Vice President for Community and Employee Relations, St. Lawrence University, 23 Romoda Dr., Canton, NY 13617.
Nominations must be received by Jan. 15.
