CANTON -- A St. Lawrence University student reported to the college that she had been sexually assaulted by an unknown male during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 29.
The student was allegedly walking toward campus on Park Street where she was stopped near the sidewalk adjacent to Hepburn Hall around 1:20 a.m.
An alert was sent out to the campus, including students, by Patrick Gagnon, director of Safety and Security at the college, on Wednesday, April 1, around 5 p.m., according to Ryan Duel, director of Media Relations.
She said she was taken to an unknown residence hall and released about 30 minutes later in front of the student center.
The victim reportedly described the man as caucasian and about six feet tall.
St. Lawrence University says they are investigating the incident.
