POTSDAM -- As a requirement of Public Service Commission Case Order (15-G-0382), Enbridge St. Lawrence Gas (SLG) will host natural gas related mock emergency exercises in partnership with Franklin County and St. Lawrence County Emergency Services.
Activities are scheduled in Potsdam on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. and in Malone on Sept. 10 at 6 p.m.
SLG will be inviting fire departments throughout each county to attend.
Potsdam's event is planned on Castle Drive.
In Malone, the exercise will be staged in the vicinity of William and Andrus streets.
SLG and local fire departments will have personnel in the area participating with tools and equipment, with local police and DPW assisting.
Residents and businesses should be aware that at some point during each event, traffic may be temporarily stopped or redirected around the scenes, SLG said.
The exercises are drills and strictly for training purposes. There will be no danger to the general public, SLG said.
People can contact Tom Carroll, SLG damage prevention coordinator, at tcarroll@stlawrencegas.com or 315-842-2593 with questions or concerns.
