CANTON – St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union will be offering a free “Community Shred Event” Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to noon at their Canton branch, 33 Court St.
The 65-year-old credit union is sponsoring the event to provide people with a way to safely and securely dispose of outdated personal and confidential documents.
Up to ten boxes of documents per automobile will be accepted, but no three-ring binders should be included.
The credit union has been conducting shred events in Canton each year since 2016 and at the main office in Ogdensburg since 2012.
SLFCU also operates a branch in Potsdam.
