CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau is moving forward with a Resource Allocation Plan to fund numerous youth development grants.
St. Lawrence County legislators on the services committee approved the resolution unanimously during the May 15 meeting.
With the approval of the resource allocation plan, the county will qualify for state reimbursement in the 2023 program year, officials say.
The Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) has made RAP funds available to provide Youth Development Programs, with a total of $79,842 allocated to the county in 2023 for youth development programs.
A total of $11,597 has been allocated for administration, $1,500 is earmarked for workshops and $19,300 has been set aside for advocacy and training, according to the resolution.
Officials say OCFS will reimburse the county for contract and county agency program expenses.
The Youth Bureau will provide planning, fiscal and grant management, technical assistance and audit claims will monitor and evaluate programs approved in the 2023 Resource Allocation Plan, officials say.
Agencies that applied for and received approval for funding include the following:
Village of Massena Therapeutic- $2,000
SLC Arts Council: Rising Teens- $6,000
Town of Stockholm Recreation- $3,000
Ogdensburg Command Performance- $2,145
NCCM STEAM Programs for Youth- $4,000
Canton Free Library- $4,000
Hammond Summer Recreation- $1,000
PAL of Massena- $4,500
Hepburn Library of Waddington- $6,700
Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club- $10,000
Claxton Hepburn Thriving Families- $4,100
