St. Lawrence County's gained a 1,000 jobs since February 2018 and saw the unemployment rate drop from 8.1 percent in February of 2018 to 6.4 percent last month.
There were 2,800 people receiving benefits last month and 3,500 in February 2018. There were 41,100 people working in February 2019 and 40,100 last February, DOL said.
To the east in Franklin County, the rate fell to 5.8 percent last month from 7.3 percent in last February. They had 1,200 people receiving benefits last month and 1,500 the same month in 2018. They had 18,800 people employed in February 2019 and 18,700 in February 2018, DOL said.
To the west in Jefferson County, the unemployment rate fell to 6.7 percent last month from 8.4 percent in February 2018. They had 2,500 people receiving unemployment last month and 3,300 in February 2018. There were 41,600 people employed in the county last month and 41,400 in February 2017, DOL said.
