CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Historical Association is offering "tea" with Silas and Clarissa Wright at the Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St. on May 10 at 11 a.m.
Kids will be able to partake in a mock Victorian-era tea party. The "tea" will be apple juice and "biscuits" will be cookies.
According to legend, one of Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting created the social ritual of teatime to quench her mid-afternoon hunger. She invited friends to share tea and snacks, along with conversation and “a walking in the fields.”
