CANTON -- In honor of the centennial of the United States' entry into the first World War in 1917, a new exhibition is opening at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, 3 E. Main St., in conjunction with Canton's Winterfest.
Come On!: Posters and Portraits of World War I shows beautifully designed posters for war bonds alongside photographic portraits of local soldiers.
Most of the photos are unidentified, and the museum welcomes visitors who recognize a friend or family member to help identify them.
The St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-4 p.m., Friday, noon-8 p.m. Admission to the museum is free; admission to the archives is free for members and children, $2.50 for college students, and $5 for the general public.
Parking is available in back of the SLCHA, next to the museum’s main entrance.
