GOUVERNEUR -- Maintenance on the village hydropower dam will shut down some streetlights in the village this month.
The streetlights owned by the village will be out of service during the work, but the lights owned by National Grid, in the vicinity of East Main Street, Factory Street, and Scotch Settlement Road, will still be on, according to Gouverneur Superintendent of Public Works Danny Forbes.
Forbes says no electricity be allowed to flow through the facility during the renovation work.
