MASSENA -- With the loss of two kettle stand locations, the Salvation Army of Massena is working harder to raise funds, according to as Massena official.
The 2012 Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign began Nov. 1, but year-round community support and funds for a new community and worship center are harder to come by, said Lt. Russell Crowsen.
“We have a great need for bell ringers,” he said. “The Salvation Army relies on community volunteers, groups and paid seasonal workers to raise our annual Red Kettle Campaign Goal. We are still taking applications for hourly workers as well as volunteer groups. All the money raised stays in our community," said Crowsen.
Applications are being taken at the Salvation Army office at 20 Russell Road. Call Crowsen if you are interested at 769-5154.
