The St. Lawrence University women's squash team completed a sweep of its competition, capping the weekend with a 9-0 victory over Vassar College in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY on Sunday. The Saints, ranked No. 28 in the pre-season poll, improved to 4-0 to open the 2012-13 season.
At one, sophomore Brigitte Tousignant earned a 3-1 victory after falling in the first set against Liz Pei (8-11, 11-5, 11-2, 11-8). Spots two through eight earned three-set sweeps of the Brewers.
Senior Frances Robinson beat Alex Bowditch at two (11-7, 11-5, 11-4), first-year student Val Quan topped Sanam Khanna at three (11-8, 11-9, 11-7), and first-year student Sarah Neilson defeated Jill Levine at four (11-6, 11-3, 11-9).
Junior Brittany Coxe earned a victory over Avery Siciliano at five (11-8, 11-4, 11-8) and senior Corey McHugh beat Karina Primelles at six (11-3, 11-6, 11-6). Junior Carolyn Fisher defeated Nancy Zhang at seven (12-10, 11-3, 11-8) and junior Liz Levering topped Andrea Fahmy at eight (11-9, 11-6, 11-9).
Sophomore Bobbi Lesser completed the Saints' sweep by battling back from two sets down to defeat Devina Vaid at nine (2-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-2).
The Saints will take on Dartmouth on Nov. 30th at 5:00pm.
