Carter Armstrong and Jake VanDeursen posted back-to-back finishes in the men's giant slalom, while Tarrah Price and Margaux Gilmour recorded back-to-back results in the women's giant slalom to lead the St. Lawrence University Alpine Ski Team on day two of the Middlebury College Carnival at the Middlebury Snowbowl on Saturday afternoon.
Armstrong and VanDeursen finished 16th and 17th, respectively. Armstrong posted a final time of two minutes and 7.92 seconds just one tenth of a second ahead of VanDeursen. The two combined to earn 53 points for the Saints.
Price recorded a time of 2:18.74 to earn 31st place in the women's giant slalom, while Gilmour, who finished just two tenths of a second later, finished 32nd. Price and Gilmour combined for 33 points.
The men's squad wrapped up the carnival in sixth place, while the women finished eighth. With scores combined from the Saints' Nordic squad the Saints finished the Middlebury Carnival in ninth place.
Up Next – The Saints will make up the giant slalom runs from the Dartmouth Carnival, tomorrow morning at the Dartmouth Skiway in Hanover, New Hampshire.
