ECAC Hockey announced its weekly award winners on Tuesday morning, and St. Lawrence University first-year student Jenna Marks was tabbed the conference's Rookie of the Week for her play against Penn State last weekend.
Marks had a career-best weekend, totaling five points in a pair of Saints wins over the Nittany Lions in non-league play. The Cottage Grove, WI native had a goal and an assist on Friday evening, then followed with three assists including the helper on the game-winner on Saturday.
"Jenna and her linemates had a nice weekend," said St. Lawrence head coach Chris Wells. "Her goal against Penn State on Friday was just what we needed at the right time."
Marks, who now has nine points (4g,5a) this season, was joined by Dartmouth's Camille Dumais and Quinnipiac's Victoria Vigilanti in the weekly honors. Dumais earned Player of the Week after a seven-point weekend including her fourth career hat trick, while Vigilanti was the Goaltender of the Week after posting a .950 save percentage and leading the Bobcats to a sweep of the Princeton Tigers.
Marks and the Saints will take the ice for the first time in 2013 on Thursday, January 3 when the team hosts Northeastern at Appleton Arena at 7:00pm.
