St. Lawrence University football players James Holley-Grisham and Chyron Brown-Wallace have earned preseason All-America honors as the start of the 2016 season nears.
Both players were first-team selections to the FootballGameplan.com preseason team and Brown-Wallace was additionally named to the College Football America Yearbook preseason team. For Brown-Wallace, it was his fourth preseason honor of the year.
The duo is just part of the Saints' defense that returns nine starters from the 2015 squad. Preseason practices began late last week as the team prepares to kick off the 2016 schedule with a 7 p.m. start Friday, September 2 in the program's first night game at Leckonby Stadium in Canton.
Holley-Grisham was the Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Year in 2015 and was selected as a return specialist on the preseason All-America team. He was tied for the team lead with six interceptions as a defensive back and was among the national leaders in punt return yardage and yards per return.
Brown-Wallace was a consensus All-American at the end of last season as he was selected to both the D3football.com and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) teams. He finished the season as one of the top players in the country in quarterback sacks and tackles for loss.
