AKWESASNE --- The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) reported four new active cases of COVID-19 today, Thursday, Nov. 19, making 18 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction.
Community spread of the virus is continuing, so practice protective measures and treat everyone as if they are positive, the Tribe said in a press release.
To help address the ongoing transmission of the virus, an additional PCR COVID-19 Drive-Thru Test Collection Clinic will be held Friday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building in Akwesasne, located at 850 Route 37. The test collection is free for all Akwesasne residents and non-member employees of local businesses and schools.
The above individuals are also able to schedule an appointment to receive a PCR COVID-19 Test by contacting Mountain Medical Services at: 518-521-3322 in Malone or 315-705-0700 in Massena.
Individuals must call ahead to schedule an appointment. Do not drive to test site without an appointment. Bring identification.
As a reminder, continue to place the safety of our community as a priority by practicing social distancing, wearing a mask when maintaining a distance of at least 6 feet from others is not possible, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer often, and stay within your immediate household’s bubble at this time.
