POTSDAM — The annual Festival of Sacred Music and Text, sponsored by the Potsdam Interfaith Community, will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church at 42 Elm St. in Potsdam.

Some congregations that will be represented include Congregation Beth El, First Church of Christ Scientist, First Presbyterian, Potsdam Masjid, St. Lawrence Valley Friends (Quakers), The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton.

The Festival brings together Potsdam’s many faiths to share sacred music and readings with one another and with the community. Admission is free and open to the public.

A dessert reception and a Faith Fair featuring information about area congregations will follow.

Jeff Francom, president of the Potsdam Interfaith Community said, “Those who attend will be introduced to music and texts that are sacred to some of the many diverse faiths within our community. For the first time, this event will conclude with a Faith Fair, where attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions of representatives from each of the participating faiths.”

The Potsdam Interfaith Community (PIC) is an organization composed of religious communities in the Potsdam area. For more information, please email potsdaminterfaith@gmail.com or visit the Potsdam Interfaith Community Facebook page at www.facebook.com/diverse.community.
