Posted

PARISHVILLE -- Roger A. Smith Jr., 34, was a lifelong resident of the North Country.

We lost Roger Jr. “June” on January 3, 2024, in Parishville, NY.

He is survived by his son, Chase Allen; his parents, Stephanie and Roger; his sisters, Erin and Christy, and his brother Wade.

Jr. was born in Middletown, NY. June attended St. Lawrence Central School and worked as a carpenter for Saint Lawrence Services.

Roger was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and many called him friend.

June was a little guy with a huge heart. Jr had a wealth of knowledge on many subjects and had a great passion for spending time on the water. Whether from a canoe or an ice shanty, June was at his happiest when he was stretching lines. He was very proficient at it and loved sharing his knowledge with others.

The heartache and love that is felt by many from the loss of Roger will last the hands of time.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 1 - 4 pm at the Helena Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers Jr’s family requests donations be made to help offset costs related to services and for his son, Chase Allen. Those who donate can write an expression of sympathy for the family which can be found by clicking on the Blue “Donate Now” button located on Roger A. Smith Jr’s obituary page at www.hammillfh.com.
