Robert C. Oney, 76, West Stockholm

WEST STOCKHOLM – Robert C. Oney, 76, passed away May 15, 2024 at Canton- Potsdam Hospital.
Robert was born October 17, 1947 in Potsdam, the son of the late Helen Oney and was raised by his grandmother, Lila Oney. He attended Potsdam Central Schools, graduating in 1969. On September 3, 1994, he married Gloria Linda Robar in Potsdam, she predeceased him on August 2, 1999.
Robert worked for a time at Uncle Max’s Restaurant and the Best Western before moving to California, where he was a security guard until his retirement. He enjoyed playing bingo, watching car racing – especially NASCAR, and volunteered for many local civic organizations.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Patricia Tyo of Norfolk; his stepson, William “Billy” (Jen) Robar of Manteca, California; his grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Brandon Robar, AJ Robar, Miranda Romera, and Roman Reyes; his great grandson, Max; two sisters, Sally and Susan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, however there will be no services at this time. A celebration of his life will be held on June 8, 2024 at the Potsdam American Legion beginning at 1:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Potsdam Animal Shelter or a charity of one’s choice.
