Robert A. England Sr., 82, Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Robert A. England Sr., 82, of Ogdensburg died peacefully at his home early Friday morning, March 8th, 2024.

He was under the care of Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley. In keeping with his wishes there will be no public funeral service.

A graveside service will take place Tuesday March 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Notre Dame Cemetery with Deacon Mark Lalonde officiating.

All are welcome. A celebration of life will follow at 603 Rossel St, Ogdensburg NY. Home of Charles and Sue Shaver.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Frary Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Robert A. England Sr. was born on February 18th, 1942, in Ogdensburg, NY. He is the son of the late Alfred and Winifred (Sargent) England.

He was a 1960 graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy. He attended SUNY Canton, earning a certificate in Fuel Oil Furnace Repair, which he used to help his parent’s business Cash Oil Sales for eighteen years.

Robert served his community as an Ogdensburg City Fireman, retiring in 1983 after twenty years of service.

On November 2, 1985, he married Muriel Kench.

He owned and operated Bob’s Trucking and Trash Removal for twenty years, alongside his wife Muriel.

He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, a third-degree Knight.

He loved listening to his music PAC 98.7 and singing every day, car rides, his cat, Tigger and most of all spending time with his beloved family.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel England; his children, Lisa Refici and her husband, Sam of Ogdensburg, Robert England Jr. and his wife, Rosa of Ogdensburg, Carrie O’Dell of Potsdam, Tammy England of Ogdensburg, Angel Smithers of Auburn, NY Crystal England-Lowell of Rochester, NY and Sarah England-Becerra and her husband, Mario of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. His siblings, Valerie Brown of Missouri, Nancy Gordon and her husband, Mark of Missouri and Sue Sharland and her husband, Mike of Ogdensburg also survive him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Winifred England.
