Rep. Bill Owens has released his third ad of the 2012 election, “No Words,” promoting his work in support of local farmers, and bolstering his stance as a fighter of useless regulations.
“Some of the regulations coming out of DC aren’t just stupid -- they hurt farmers and our local economy,” said Owens. “That’s why I’ve been standing up for farmers,” he said.
“These issues are not partisan. They’re a matter of common sense. Milk spills shouldn’t be treated as oil spills. Teenagers should be able to work on their family farm. And farm dust is impossible to regulate.”
Owens has repeatedly voted to rein in excessive regulation, voting for the Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act, cosponsoring legislation to prevent the EPA from treating milk spills as oil spills, and pressuring the Labor Department to not enact a rule preventing teens from working on the family farm, according to Owens Campaign Manager James Hannaway.
"Bill listens to farmers. On all three issues, it was farmers coming to him, expressing their concerns, and him acting on those concerns." said Hannaway.
The ad is being released in the Watertown and Albany media markets on the eve of the Washington County Farm Bureau Debate on September 5 at Greenwich High School with Watertown Republican Matt Doheny.
