OGDENSBURG — The Frederic Remington Art Museum invites the community to a new series of monthly family art programs, Family Fun-day Sunday.

On the last Sunday of every month, beginning Feb. 25, families and children of all ages are invited to play, explore, and create together two doors down from the Museum at the Eva Caten Remington Education Center (aka Kid’s Place) at 323 Washington St.

Family Fun-day Sunday will take place from 1-4 p.m. with a special art-making workshop at 2 p.m. This program is free and open to the public, though donations are always welcome.

“We are excited to be opening up the education center to the public once again for Family Fun-day Sunday!” says Julie Pratt, the program’s coordinator at the Remington Museum. “Our children’s creativity space (affectionately known as Kid’s Place, after Eva Remington, whom Fred nicknamed ‘Kid’) is a great place for families of all kinds to engage with art, imagination, and exploration together. It is important to us here at the Remington Museum for art and creativity to be accessible to people of all ages and all styles of learning. An art museum is a great place to experience and learn about art, but if you or your little ones wish for a more interactive, hands-on experience, or just a place to play, get creative, and make messy art, then Family Fun-day Sunday is for you!”

At Kid’s Place visitors will find a large imaginative play area (complete with a life-size horse, “Rusty”), a kids’ art studio where children of all ages can explore various mediums and art-making techniques, and many different interactive stations throughout Kid’s Place that will spark the imagination.

In addition to free play and art-making throughout the day, there will be a fun, family-friendly art-making workshop that afternoon at 2 p.m.

This program is free and open to the public, no registration is required.
