Barn quilt enthusiasts have shared their creations with others through the Holiday Showcase which kicked off earlier this month at TAUNY in Canton. Barn quilts sold during the holidays support TAUNY and the painters.
CANTON -- TAUNY, 53 Main St., is including the sale of barn quilts in its holiday showcase. Purchases of barn quilts, like other products sold under consignment, support TAUNY as well as the painter. Barn quilt enthusiasts in Colton, Canton and Hammond painted seven barn quilts to sell.
Each measures two-by-two feet. One of the seven for sale, titled “Patriotic Cats,” was painted by Joan Olin in Canton on lighter weight aluminum rather than the wooden sign board more typically used.
Another one has already sold, with “Beacon Lights” returning to the Town of Colton where it was painted through the Tourism & Beautification Committee.
