POTSDAM – Crane School of Music professors Kelly Drifmeyer, Dr. Carol Lowe, Dr. Kirk Severtson and Dr. Julianne Kirk will perform a faculty recital at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17 in Hosmer Concert Hall, SUNY Potsdam.
The faculty recital represents a unique collaboration between Drifmeyer on horn, Lowe on bassoon, Severtson on piano and Kirk on clarinet.
The recital will open with the world premiere of Paul Steinberg's 2010 piece, "Kaleidoscope for Horn," which will be followed with the 1983 "Trio for Horn, Bassoon and Piano," by Eric Ewazen. The Crane professors will also present Thomas Dunhill's five-movement 1941 work, "Lyric Suite for Bassoon and Piano," before concluding the concert with Franz Berwald's 1819 piece, "Quartet in E-flat Major for Piano and Wind Instruments."
The concert is free and the public is invited to attend.
