POTDAM – Peak Moment TV host Janaia Donaldson meets with Matthew Corson-Finnerty to discuss pedal-powered machines developed at the Aprovecho Center in Oregon on Jan. 6-7 at 7 p.m. on WCKN-TV or Time Warner Digital channel 30.
Donaldson wonders if you can jump on a bike to power up the blender for your morning smoothie. Matthew Corson-Finnerty shows off several pedal-powered machines he has developed while at the Aprovecho Center in Oregon.
Matthew says that viewing “The End of Suburbia” in his senior year at university changed his life.
Life led him to Maya Pedal in Guatemala, where he spent several months learning from bicycle wizards who used bike parts to make simple machinery to make peoples’ lives easier.
He has spent time as a researcher in residence at Aprovecho Center in Oregon, designing and producing an electricity generator, a grain mill, a blender, and a straw-chopper.
