POTSDAM -- Potsdam Walmart recently donated $1,500 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.
The grant will be used to purchase nutrition education materials for the hospital’s cardiac and pulmonary-rehabilitation patients.
The cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program provides individualized fitness programs for more than 100 patients annually.
Patients typically attend the program two days per week for about three months.
An important component of the program is helping the participants to make lifestyle changes, including establishing weight loss goals and changing dietary habits, according to Exercise Specialist Krystle Burgoyne.
“This grant from Walmart will be a big help in providing materials our patients can take home with them to continue their journey towards better health,” she said.
Donations to the Foundation can be made 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam, or www.cphospital.org.
