The SUNY Potsdam volleyball team will participate in the State University of New York Athletic Conference’s Dig Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness campaign this Wednesday, Oct. 6, against cross-town rival Clarkson at 7 p.m.
In an effort to raise awareness about breast health education and raise funds in the fight to eradicate the disease, head coach Steve Pike and the
Bears will sell Potsdam Volleyball Dig Pink t-shirts and accept any
donations made to support the cause. One hundred percent of proceeds will be contributed to increase breast cancer awareness and research.
“We’re excited about ‘Dig Pink’ and helping people in cancer research,” Pike said. “Who knows how much we’ll donate, but the volleyball community will help support a vicious disease that affects many families all over the country.”
Potsdam players and coaches will wear pink, and fans are also encouraged to wear pink.
Six other SUNYAC teams are to participate in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
