POTSDAM -- Potsdam United Methodist Church, 26 Main St., invites the community to a Christmas Eve candlelight worship service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, in the sanctuary.
With scripture and prayer, solo, choral, instrumental and organ music, and the message will tell the story of the first Christmas and celebrate the birth of Jesus.
The Rev. James Barnes will share his thoughts, entitled "Less Perplexed."
As the congregation sings "Silent Night" the sanctuary will be filled with candlelight and the baby Jesus will be placed in the manger. The event will close by singing "Joy to the World."
