NORWOOD -- The Town Council is taking steps to resolve potentially confusing speed limit rules on Dry Bridge Road just south of Norwood.

The road, which runs east off of state Route 56, has a 30 mph limit up to the bridge. Once crossing the bridge the limit goes up to 55 mph for four-tenths of a mile until it intersects with the Morgan Road. There, it returns to 30 mph.

The town board wants a 30 mph limit on the whole stretch of road, and voted Wednesday night to move ahead with the proposal.

To do that, the board must submit details to the St. Lawrence County Highway Department, which then forwards the request to the state Department of Transportation for their analysis.
