POTSDAM -- Friends of the Potsdam Museum will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, June 24 at 2 p.m. This year’s program will focus on the effect the War of 1812 had on St. Lawrence County. Art Johnson who specializes in local history lore will be the speaker. Hear how a party of British soldiers made a raid on Hopkinton in March
1814 looking for three hundred barrels of flour and several dozen muskets
stored there by the U.S. government for safe keeping. The meeting is in the Museum, located at 2 Park Street, Civic Center, and is free to the public. Refreshments will be served.
