POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday afternoon following a property-damage accident on Lower Pine Street, according to Potsdam police.
Ryan D. Porter, 22, was charged with first-offense DWI, speed not reasonable and prudent, and failure to keep right.
The alleged incident took place around 3:45 p.m.
Porter failed to properly negotiate a turn from northbound on Pine Street to Lower Pine Street causing him to lose control of the vehicle, officers said. The vehicle then travelled through the oncoming lane and exited the left side of the roadway.
His blood-alcohol content was .11 percent.
No injuries were reported.
Porter was released on appearance tickets returnable to Potsdam court Sept. 14 at noon.
