POTSDAM -- A Potsdam Public Library budget public hearing for Potsdam Central school district voters will be in the community room of the Potsdam Village civic center Wednesday, June 13 at 7 p.m..
The district is seeking public approval for the levying of taxes from district residents to fund the library's support and maintenance. The total tax levy is expected to increase by $17,730 over the current appropriation of $539,700. The new of levy of $557,430 will be the annual appropriation district wide.
A vote on the matter at the civic center is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20. Polls will be open from noon-8 p.m.
District voters will also be electing three people to serve three years on the library board of trustees.
Copies of the proposed library budget, including expenses can be viewed at the library during normal hours.
Petitions for nominating library trustees need to be filed with the library clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, June 1.
Absentee ballots may be obtained at the library between 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
