POTSDAM -- With a win in the Northern Region Sectional Tournament, the Potsdam Ice Storm 16 and Under Girls Hockey Team heads to Buffalo for the state tournament next weekend.
This is the second year in a row the Ice Storm 16U team has taken the first place crown at the New York State Amateur Hockey Association North Section Tourney, this year in Malone, beating Malone 8-0, the Troy Ice Cats 5-1, Lake Placid 6-1, and Adirondack 3-0.
The Ice Storm will go to the State Final Eight Tourney March 9-11 as the number one-ranked seed from the North Section. The Ice Storm will face off against Adirondack on Friday, March 9 and will play the Brewster Lady Bull Dogs and the Buffalo Hornets on Saturday, March 10.
Head Coach Christin Powers and Assistant Coaches Rick Miller and John Hart lead the Ice Storm 16U.
