POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Hospital Guild recently donated a total of $58,000 to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Foundation.
The donation includes a $15,000 payment on the pledge for the hospital’s Center for Cancer Care; $23,780 to purchase 41 new Lifeline Units; $9,000 for a fetal monitor, and smaller grants for departments and projects across the hospital.
The guild originally formed in 1933 to sew bandages and bed sheets for the hospital.
Last year the guild’s efforts were recognized by the Hospital Association of New York State, which named the Potsdam Guild its “Small Hospital Auxiliary of the Year” for 2012.
