POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Food Co-op, 24 Elm St., will celebrate its 40th anniversary with an open house Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Animal Crackers, Church & State, and Minor Swing will provide music throughout the day. Kids can take part in a “butter dance” at 11:30 a.m. and face painting and arts and sciences stations will be available.
Potential members can learn about the co-op, and shoppers will receive a 10 percent discount.
The co-ops’ Carriage House Bakery & Deli will have food to sample, and local vendors such as St. Lawrence Valley Coffee Roasters, Sanderfer Beef, Longview Farms Pork, and Prosper’s Farm Yogurt will offer tastings.
A drawing will be held for a booklet of 12 coupons, redeemable for a loaf of Carriage House Bakery bread each month for one year. Tickets will be $1.
A member/owner group photo will be taken at 10 a.m. Members should arrive by 9:30 a.m. for coffee and breakfast snacks.
