POTSDAM – The Potsdam branch of Community Bank is helping kick off the 43rd Empire State Winter Games by participating in an Olympic-style torch relay.
The torch will be welcomed to the Potsdam Community Bank branch around 1 p.m. and depart around 2 p.m. on Feb. 2.
The Games’ torch will follow two routes, starting in Buffalo and Manhattan, with both ending in Lake Placid. The torch will stop at select Community Bank branches, including Potsdam, during its journey.
Other participating branches are Gowanda, Orchard Park, Waterloo, Oneida, Cazenovia, Lake Placid, Ticonderoga, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, Kinderhook and Valatie.
Community Bank is once again the title sponsor for the Empire State Winter Games this year, which will be held Feb. 2-5 in Lake Placid, where more than 5,000 athletes of all ages are expected to participate.
The Potsdam branch is located at 64-70 Market St.
