POTSDAM – The holiday spirit was alive and well on the pickleball courts as the North Country Pickleball Club recently hosted Christmas on the Courts, a special tournament benefitting the Potsdam Holiday Fund held Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Sandstoner Park Pickleball Courts.
The event brought together over 80 pickleball players and community members for a day filled with friendly competition and plenty of holiday spirit.
Thanks to the generosity of the tournament organizers, participants and sponsors, the event raised $5,400 for the Potsdam Holiday Fund. These funds will help the Holiday Fund continue its mission of providing holiday assistance to local children, families, and senior citizens in Potsdam and surrounding areas.
“The Potsdam Holiday Fund is incredibly grateful to the North Country Pickleball Club and to everyone who participated in Christmas on the Courts,” said Janice and Fonda Adderley, board members of the Potsdam Holiday Fund. “The event was so special because of the enthusiasm and creativity from the organizers and volunteers. Their generosity and willingness to come together and have fun while helping others is exactly what our community and the spirit of giving is all about.”
Event organizers would like to thank the sponsors who helped make the event possible including The North Country Pickleball Club, Sandstone Realty, The UPS Store, Hot Box Sauna, The Finishing Line, King Realty NNY, Arnold’s Fuel and Concrete, and contributors including Price Chopper, Parishville Apple Orchard, Canton Save-a-Lot, Barker Productions, and children who made bracelets and lemonade donated their proceeds too. Many local businesses and community members donated more than 80 baskets that were raffled off.
The Potsdam Holiday Fund relies on the generosity of local residents, businesses, organizations and volunteers to help make the holiday season a little brighter for those in need. Events such as Christmas on the Courts play an important role in making that possible.
The Potsdam Holiday Fund extends its heartfelt thanks to the North Country Pickleball Club, tournament organizers, players, volunteers, donors, and everyone who helped make Christmas on the Courts a success.
