To the Editor:
As we will be approaching one of the largest parades in St. Lawrence County on July 4th in Norwood; here are some safety reminders for all participants.
Groups dispensing candy should only be passing it out and not throwing it from the street or from floats because there are many tractors, machinery and fire trucks in the parade.
Secondly, parents should be aware not to push their children out to receive candy, as barricades are usually set up to stand behind.
Do not cross the street between or with in units in the parade.
All fire departments are reminded not to throw candy or pass out candy during the line of march.
It is our hope that you will take these matters in consideration as you enjoy the parade to honor our independence.
