(Morrisville, N.Y.)- The SUNY Canton men’s soccer team won their second straight one-goal game Wednesday night as they blanked Morrisville State College 1-0 on the road.
Junior Marvin Palmer (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted his second goal of the season and second game-winning score after he deposited a shot from the middle of the box in the 47th minute. Sophomore Shane Powell (Yonkers, N.Y.) was credited with the assist.
Freshman William Banahene (Rochester, N.Y.) notched his second consecutive shutout with six saves for the Roos, the 18th-ranked team in the USCAA. SUNY Canton improved their record to 5-6-1 overall.
The Roos outshot the Mustangs 19-17 and took eight corner kicks to three by Morrisville.
Rob Larkin had 11 saves for the Mustangs, who dropped to 9-4-1.
The Roos are next in action this Saturday, Oct. 13 when they travel to Paul Smith’s College for a 3 p.m. contest.
