Opinion: West Stockholm man critical of Stefanik's telephone town hall

To the Editor:

As I have said before, Stefanik does not hold town halls or meet with the people of her district. Her last weekly news letter does not mention a telephone town hall, but suddenly, on Wednesday, July 20 at 1 PM she sent out a special email announcing a telephone town hall.

It seems underhanded, sneaky and unprofessional to have a telephone town hall an hour before the start of the January 6 investigation during prime time. It is everyone’s duty, including our Congresswoman, to watch the January 6 investigation into the attack on our government. Are many other Republican representatives holding town halls during the January 6th investigation to distract citizens from watching?

The two emails alerting me to the Stefanik’s attempt at meeting with her constituents, were three minutes apart. Both documents were identical, except the first did not have a PIN number in the letter, but the second one did have the PIN. The telephone meeting is exclusive to those who subscribe to her weekly newsletter and use of a radical deep state PIN number.

Stefanik’s big distraction of staging her town hall during prime time and during bipartisan investigation into January 6 insurrection is sad, anti democratic and unprofessional. Congress members should be in district, in person, announced in advance, every month of the year.

Stefanik’s “schedule” (hidden under “about”) on her official website lists activities 11 days old https://stefanik.house.gov/schedule
