To the Editor:
The voters of Northern New York will have the opportunity to elect three Supreme Court Justices this November. Of the six candidates to choose from, I strongly encourage you to make Allison McGahay one of your choices.
As a retired Supreme Court Justice I know what it takes to be a successful judge. Allison has those attributes which will make her an exceptional jurist. She has life experiences in the service industry providing her the ability to work with people and understand their needs. Her legal career has been varied and exemplary. In addition to running a successful law practice she has distinguished herself in public service as an Assistant District Attorney, a Town Attorney and a Commissioner of a Board of Elections.
Allison is personable, extremely hard-working, caring and will make her judicial decisions based upon the law and good old common sense.
The Fourth Judicial District is geographically the largest in the State. Because of its size, it is important that the Justices elected come from every county to ensure that litigants and their attorneys have access to a nearby judge. An Essex County resident, Allison’s election will ensure that the Adirondacks have a Supreme Court Justice who knows the people and the area and who will serve them with distinction.
On Nov. 8, please join me in casting a vote for Allison McGahay.
David Demarest, J.S.C. (ret.)
