OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Zonta club made a year five donation for the Breast Board Pledge, totaling $5,000.
The club has donated $1,000 each year for five years to the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Foundation towards the purchase of breast boards in 2019.
Breast boards are an important tool for improving radiation treatment outcomes for breast cancer patients. The use of a breast board allows caregivers to position the patient in a way that allows for optimal access to affected tissues and lessens the effects of radiation on healthy breast tissues when undergoing radiation treatments.
