OGDENSBURG – The Zonta Club of Ogdensburg pledged $5,000 towards the purchase of breast boards at the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center in 2019.
Breast boards are an important tool for improving radiation treatment outcomes for breast cancer patients. The use of a breast board allows caregivers to position the patient in a way that allows for optimal access to affected tissues and lessens the effects of radiation on healthy breast tissues when undergoing radiation treatments.
The Zonta Club recently made one of their final pledge installments for this much-needed piece of equipment.
