The City of Ogdensburg and the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation are two of several communities across the state that are receiving state Urban Forestry grants.
The City of Ogdensburg will receive $25,000 and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe will get $9,968 from the state for technical assistance involving projects such as community tree planting, tree inventories and management plans.
A total of 62 recipients from cities, villages, towns and not-for-profit organizations across the state have been chosen for cost-sharing Urban Forestry grants, administered by state Department of Environmental Conservation’s Urban and Community Forestry Program.
