OGDENSBURG -- Mayor-elect Wayne Ashley is in stable condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse following a “medical issue.”
Mayor William Nelson said Ashley is doing well and released the following statement on his behalf.
"On behalf of the citizens of the City of Ogdensburg, we wish him well and look forward to a full and speedy recovery, asked that I inform our community that he has a medical issue and that he is in stable condition. He also asked me to pass on a thank you to everyone for keeping him in their thoughts and prayers,” Nelson said.
Ashley recently won the Mayor’s seat and is scheduled to take office Jan. 1.
