CANTON — An Ogdensburg man was charged with promoting prison contraband on Sunday, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Eric S. Lalonde, 33, was charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband, officers said.
The sheriff’s K9 Unit was requested to conduct a search inside the jail for narcotics and officers were alerted to shoes that were in Lalonde’s cell.
Marijuana was found inside the shoes after they were searched, deputies said.
He was cited and is to appear in Canton court at a later date.
