OGDENSBURG -- A house fire at 720 Montgomery St. is under investigation and no injuries were reported, according to fire officials.
Ogdensburg fire and police responded to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday.
Ogdensburg fire Capt. Jim Lowery said firefighters arrived to find both the rear of the house and a car in the driveway on fire, so investigators are trying to determine which ignited first.
Residents on both sides of the home were evacuated as firefighters contained the blaze.
The street was blocked off between Morris and Hamilton streets.
Lowery said vinyl siding was melted on neighboring 722 Montgomery St., but no other structures caught fire.
“Everything went very well. We responded with five guys, we had a response time of three minutes,” Lowery said. “We called in all the off duty guys. Everybody did a hell of a job and we had the fire under control in probably under 30 minutes.”
