OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg Command Performances will host Broadway veterans Glory Crampton and Franc D’Ambrosio in “Angel of Music,” a salute to Andrew Lloyd Webber, in George Hall Auditorium, O.F.A., Saturday, May 18.
Franc D’Ambrosio is best known as the phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award winning musical, “Phantom of the Opera.” Known as “The Iron Man of the Mask,” he was the “World’s Longest Running Phantom.” He also starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s “Godfather III” as the opera singing son of Al Pacino.
Glory Crampton is best known for roles in “Phantom of the Opera,” “My Fair Lady,” “Nine,” “Camelot,” “Carousel” and “The Fantasticks.” She is also a soprano solo artist who has sung with tenor Jose Carreras of the Three Tenors at Radio City Music Hall.
Two local singers will be chosen to star in the roles of “Christine” and “Raoul.” The chosen stars will sing the duet “All I Ask of You” from “The Phantom of the Opera.”
The singers will be selected after an audition with Franc D’Ambrosio.
Six finalists will be chosen for vocal and acting lessons with D’Ambrosio. After hearing and working with the finalists one “Christine” and one “Raoul” will be chosen.
The auditions will be held from 4 to 6:30 p.m. May 17 in George Hall Auditorium at Ogdensburg Free Academy.
Auditions are open to high school and college students in St. Lawrence County, ages 15 to 22.
