OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce’s annual Lighting Contest will return again this year.
This year’s contest will be held Monday, Dec. 17, beginning at 6 p.m. Categories for judging include best holiday spirit, traditional, religious and people’s choice. Each category will have a 1st place and a 2nd place winner. First place winners will receive $100 and 2nd place winners will receive $25. In the people’s choice category winners will receive $50 each.
The chamber judges will leave North Country Savings Bank at 6 p.m. in their “holiday special” bus. The bus will tour all the homes, judging each entry. Anyone who would like to join the bus tour should call the chamber to make a reservation. Tickets are $5. The people’s choice award will be voted on by those riding the bus.
Those wishing to have their home entered in the contest, or wishing to nominate a friend or neighbor, should contact the chamber with the name and address of the decorator. The chamber will call to verify permission to enter the address on the contest list.
To reserve a space on the bus or to nominate a decorator call Sandy Porter at the chamber office, 393-3620.
