Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, R-Willsboro, has sent a letter she signed along with other New York representatives urging Governor Andrew Cuomo to nominate upstate communities as Opportunity Zones.
The zones are a new national community development program established in the recent tax bill. They are intended to encourage long-term investment in low-income communities across the United States.
“This new program could benefit our North Country economy,” said Stefanik.
“I urge Governor Cuomo to nominate communities in our district and work to make this new tax law as helpful as possible for families and businesses across New York.”
