NORFOLK – The Norfolk Volunteer Rescue Squad hosted its first Community Shred Day, Recruitment and Open House on Sept. 21 at 7 Sedwick St., Norfolk.
The event featured free shredding services provided by Summit SHRED LAB, allowing participants to securely dispose of sensitive documents.
Community spirit shone brightly, as many attendees generously contributed more than the suggested $5 donation, with some also purchasing $20 raffle tickets for a chance to win a Ruger American 7mm-08 Bolt Action rifle, to be drawn on Oct. 12.
This event served as a platform for recruitment and a vital fundraising effort, underscoring the squad's dedication to the community. Those interested in supporting the Norfolk Volunteer Rescue Squad can purchase a raffle ticket or learn more about getting involved, can contact Assistant Chief Joe Andrasik or a squad member at 315-384-4656. Additionally, they can contact via Facebook or Instagram.
Overall, the event successfully fostered community engagement, raised funds for essential equipment, and highlighted the important work of our rescue squad members.
